Pinedo got his start in college basketball as a student manager for Coach John Beilein at the University of Michigan from 2007-2011, serving as the head manager his senior year. Pinedo joined during Beilein’s first season, being part of the foundation that eventually lead to multiple Big Ten titles, NCAA runs, Final Fours, and National Championship appearances. The Wolverines made it to the NCAA Tournament second round both in the 2008-2009 season and the 2010-2011 season. Players Pinedo worked with include Manny Harris, DeShawn Sims, Ekpe Udoh, Zach Novak, Darius Morris, Tim Hardaway, Jr., and Jordan Morgan. Pinedo’s senior season was memorable for sweeping the Michigan State Spartans and losing by two points to Kyrie Irving’s 3-seed Duke Blue Devils in the NCAA Tournament.

After graduating, Pinedo was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps and served active duty from 2011-2015, stationed in Twentynine Palms, California. An artilleryman, Pinedo deployed with an infantry unit in support of Operation Inherent Resolve to counter ISIS in 2014-2015 in Iraq and Kuwait. Pinedo currently serves as a Captain with an Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company (ANGLICO) reserve unit.

Upon leaving active duty, Pinedo studied at the Rice University Jones Graduate School of Business to earn his Master’s in Business Administration. Pinedo began in oil and gas investment banking with KLR Group in Houston, Texas before transitioning to SET Group in Dallas, Texas, a startup focused on next-generation space hardware. He currently works there as the Chief Financial Officer.

Pinedo graduated from Annapolis Christian Academy in Corpus Christi, Texas, where he was the captain of both the varsity football and basketball team. During his time in football, he won one State Championship and was State runner-up a second year. With basketball, he was a two-time division champion. In football, Pinedo was awarded first team all-state for offense, second team all-state for defense, and was awarded the team’s leadership award.
